History: Artemis is the daughter of two famous Golden Age costumed criminals, the Sportsmaster (Crusher Crock) and the Huntress (Paula Brooks) and the granddaughter of Zatara's foe, the original Tigress. Named after the ancient Greek goddess of the hunt, she followed in the footsteps of her parents from a rather young age and decided to become a costumed criminal. She fused the signature styles of her parents - like her mother she was an archer and acrobat (though she used a crossbow instead of a bow) and like her father she was an excellent all-round athlete. It seems Paula Brooks vicariously relived her youth - when she trained to became a great huntress like her idol Paul Kirk - through her daughter.

As the super-villain Artemis, Artemis Crock joined a new version of the Injustice Society while she was a teenager. Her parents were imprisoned in New York at that point, and a key part of Artemis's agenda was to get them out of prison so they could retire in Zandia.

Like most previous versions of the Injustice Society (including the one that counted her parents as members) the group was formed and led by the Wizard. It was a mixture of long-lived villains who had been active during the Golden Age (the Wizard himself, Fiddler and Shade) and of descendants of their teammates (Artemis, the new Icicle, and Hazard).

The previous versions of the Injustice Society had clashed with the Justice Society. Since the JSAers seemed headed toward retirement and a new generation of legacy heroes was emerging - Infinity, Incorporated - the Wizard named his group Injustice, Unlimited to keep up with the times.

Injustice, Unlimited attacked a major trade conference in Calgary, clashing with both Infinity, Inc. and the Global Guardians. The villains had the upper hand. While the Wizard was holding the participants hostage for ransom, the rest of the roster forced heroes to help them on personal pursuits. Artemis had Nuklon and Rising Sun assist in storming the Empire State penitentiary, freeing her parents on the day before their re-trial. Though the scheme in Calgary failed when Solomon Grundy allied with Infinity, Inc., Artemis and her parents apparently managed to get away.

Months later, the Harlequin (Marcie Cooper) offered to re-form Injustice, Unlimited and recruited the three younger members - Artemis, Hazard and Icicle. She also brought in the Dummy to have a more experienced person on the group, and tricked Solomon Grundy into joining by disguising herself as Jade.

At this point Infinity, Inc. was falling apart in the wake of Skyman's death - and the Injustice, Unltd. members intended to finish them off. Artemis ambushed and nearly killed the Infinitor, Jade. Jade's lover Brainwave intervened and would have taken out Artemis had not her colleague Icicle, who was developing a romantic interest in Artemis, been watching the scene. Artemis and Icicle thought that they had killed the two Infinitors, but their targets narrowly survived.

Artemis wasn't seen for years after that, but when she appeared again she was considerably more experienced and was now using the code name borne by her grandmother and her mother before her - Tigress.

Johnny Sorrow picked her as one of the footsoldiers sent after the newly-reborn JSA, a contract she likely accepted for a shot at foes of her parents, such as Wildcat or Sentinel. Being noticeably more competent than her colleagues, she nearly defeated Wildcat with a baseball bat and a skipping rope, but her teammate Killer Wasp semi-accidentally zapped her with a bio-electric discharge.

After recovering, Tigress joined the Summer Olympics delegation of the tiny rogue state of Zandia, where she was apparently a resident. The rather impressive archery team starred Merlyn, his protege Turk, and Tigress, using a bow for a change ; Tigress was also reunited with her colleague and friend from Injustice Unlimited, Hazard. The Zandian team clashed with Young Justice, and Tigress was easily defeated by Impulse. Still, she managed to compete against Cissie King Jones (formerly Arrowette), but Artemis's mother decided to intervene and discreetly graze Jones with a poisoned arrow, despite her promise to her daughter that she would do no such thing. The plan failed due to the vigilance of Jones's own mother, and both Tigress and Merlyn (who was the one hit by the arrow) had to step down from the competition, leaving an easy victory for Jones.

Tigress's next documented contract was to accompany the return of the Sorrow version of the Injustice Society. For a new assault on the JLA, she teamed up with her old friend Icicle II and newcomer Shiv and within seconds put a wooden bolt (made of a shaft taken from Blackbriar Thorn) right in Sentinel's chest, in the middle of his green lantern symbol - her bolt ignoring his barrier of green flame. She also managed to defeat Hawkgirl, entangling her wings with a weighted net and gleefully beating her up and prying her mask open with a knife. However at that point Hawkgirl exploded with mystical energy as part of her reincarnations' memories found their way back to her, knocking Tigress out.

Tigress then joined Circe's army of female supervillains in New York City and had the time of her life, since Circe teleported many male heroes there and transmogorified them into animals to be hunted. Wonder Woman organized a counterstrike with a army of superheroines, and Tigress fared pretty well - along with Cybercat they took out Chrysalis, and then she started hunting down Rusalka and a wounded Firebird.

Tigress started working for Kristopher Roderic, one of the foremost dealers in art and antiquities, forming a small team of killers along with Shadow Thief and Copperhead. Most of those mercenaries' assignments were not documented, but at one point they hunted Danny Evans, an American archaeologist who was looking for a legendary artefact in Punjab. Evans proved to be a resourceful and elusive target, but they eventually caught him. However, the hawks were there, and Huntress tried to get her revenge on Hawkgirl - who was now much more martially adept, and managed to snatch her bolt in mid- flight bare-handed and engage the Tigress in a brawl.

The Tigress managed to escape with the book Evans was using to locate the artefact. Hawkgirl and Evans managed to snatch the book from her, and as the Tigress pursued the troops Roderic had paid to accompany his team decided to turn on her and force her to give them whatever she had found. Fuming with rage, Tigress shot their officer through the heart and then fled from the heavily-armed men. It is likely she had to kill off many of them to force them to abandon their hunt. Some weeks later, tiring of their employer's dangerously treacherous ways and being owned several late payments, the three mercenaries eventually decided to quit and go their separate ways - though Shadow Thief was forced by his shadows to stay.

Tigress (as well as Icicle II and Shiv) joined the next version of the Injustice Society, organised by Legacy, which again confronted the JSA. Unknown to the JSA, their job was just to stick teleportation disks to the old-timers ; hating the hawks, Tigress was the one who took them on and slapped a disk on Hawkman's chest, sending him away. Legacy then teleported his succesful team away. Legacy was later revealed to be the man who had organised Injustice Unlimited, Artemis's first known group - the Wizard.

Her next employer (which she did not want to reveal as the Thinker, having signed a NDA) had her run various missions, including beating up and denying payment to a group of mercenaries in Hub City for having breached their contract with the Thinker. Her services were then required by Icicle, whom the badly damaged Wizard had reached for help. She was but the beginning - Icicle, Wizard and Tigress then reunited with the Injustice Society (Legacy version) members, starting with Rag Doll and following with the Thinker when he accepted to reveal himself. They then contacted and recruited the Gentleman Ghost, who took them to Grundy, and Grundy accepted to join them when Rag Doll lied and told him Icicle was being mean toward Tigress.

The Wizard then revealed he intended to steal the Cosmic Key from the JSA vaults, in the hope of mastering the powerful artefact and using it to bring to our world an entity that was haunting his astral form, depriving him of his magic and slowly killing him. Despite the danger this version of the Injustice Society, which felt a strong sense of team membership, decided to run the huge risks and aid the Wizard. Displaying superb professionalism, they managed to get into the JSA's headquarter yet again, after setting up a series of false leads to ensure that no JSA heavy hitter would be there. They managed to get both the key, and an astral tether the Gentleman Ghost rode to determined who was the entity that was riding the Wizard's astral form. It turned out to be a former employer, the highly dangerous Johnny Sorrow.

Although they were betrayed by the alliance of villains called the Society, and Rag Doll then predictably attempted to double-cross them, the Injustice Society made it by the skin of their teeth ; Tigress even managed to brawl with Wildcat and to be knocked out less badly then he was. They escaped from both the JSA and the Society ; the Wizard fully recovered ; the Key gave them access to Prometheus' Crooked House to use as a base ; and they brought Johnny Sorrow back by letting Rag Doll betray them and be incinerated by the eldritch energy of Sorrow's return. Tigress and Icicle nearly fought when she realised that everybody but her counted on Rag Doll betraying them to bring Sorrow back, but Icicle told her how he had managed the entire operation largely in the hope to impress her and have her back and they ended up renewing their relationship.

Recently, Icicle and Tigress had to team up with Liberty Bell and Hourman in a race to find a valuable ancient artifact. It was revealed that Artemis was pregnant and in fear she would die (as Icicle had caused his own mother's death with his birth), Icicle planned to sell the artifact and use the money to save both Artemis and the baby. While they didn't get the artifact, Artemis was able to deliver the baby safely, naming her Isabelle Rose.

Garden History: n/a

Abilities & Physical Abnormalities:

As a baseline human, Tigress doesn't poses any super human abilities. However, she does have the following skills: Acrobatics, Martial Arts, Tracking, Weaponry, Archery, Lightning Reflexes, Sharp Eye, Make-do Equipment

Personality: Artemis has strong killer instincts, and will in fact engage in killing combat unless ordered not to by someone she respects.  She wants to kill people and get a lot of money.  A large  part of her motivation is anger over the time her parents spent in prison. She prefers killing heroes but doesn't mind killing anybody else, and though she's disciplined she's clearly on the bloodthirsty side.

She's a professional killer. Despite her professionalism, she seems to dislike other costumed female adventurers, and will make them her preferred target, often picking the prettiest one. She is not a nice person; she kills brutally and hunts mercilessly, and tends to cruelly taunt her prey. She is possessive toward her targets, hating it when other people might mess up with her kill.

Her parents are very important to her, perhaps because they spent so much time away from her in prison. When she is between contracts, she will confront anyone who defeated her parents encountered decades ago, and hates the JSA and anything connected with it (such as Infinity, Inc.). All Artemis really wants is to make her parents proud of her. As a third generation villain, Artemis feels as though she has a lot to live up to. She feels strong loyalty toward her teammates,  treating them like a second family. Even when Rag Doll betrayed the rest of the team, she was the only one who refused to let him take the fall alone.

She dislikes being in her civvies, and feels she looks stupid when she's not in costume and has to hide her facial tattoo. Her relationship with Icicle II has been on-again, off- again, with at least one bad breakup. They tend to range the gamut from bickering constantly, to ignoring each other, to pretending they never were were in a relationship, to badly wanting to be with each other. Artemis's temper can make things difficult, but she but she truly loves her husband and her daughter and will go to great lengths to protect them.

What are your plans for the character in-game?

She'll enjoy hunting and killing playing with Wildcat and possibly making the Earth-16 Artemis Crock's life hell.

Anything else?

Tigress has the mouth of a sailor. She cusses. A lot. I don't know if that's a problem, but if it is I'll tone it down.
